Aphorisms of Chanakya Sutra 451 to 571 (Only English and Hindi Translation)

Aphorism 451 The land where water is easily available is better for agriculture. वह भूमि जंहा पानी प्रचुर मात्र में उपलब्ध है खेती के लिए अच्छी है.

Aphorism 452 One should not cause anger to a giant elephant by using petty castor. किसी भी शुद्र वास्तु का प्रयोग करके एक महाकाय हाथी को क्रोधित ना करे.

Aphorism 453 A bondage of an elephant should be compatible with it's strength. हाथी का बंधन उसकी ताकत के अनुरूप होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 454 A kanher can't be used as a beater irrespective of it's length and thickness. कान्हेर यदि मोटा और लम्बा भी है तो भी मुसल का काम नहीं कर सकता.

Aphorism 455 A firefly can't be used for creating fire whatever may be it's shine. एक जुगनू कितना भी चमके उससे आग नहीं मिल सकती.

Aphorism 456 If someone flourishes in some areas that doesn't mean that he has virtue or dedication. यदि किसीकी किसी क्षेत्र में उन्नति होती है तो यह आवश्यक नहीं की उसके पास गुण और समर्पण है.

Aphorism 457 A very old bark of a neem tree can't be used for making a knife. An evil remains useless irrespective of how old he grows. एक पुराने नीम के पेड़ की छाल भी चाकू बनाने के काम नहीं आ सकती. दुष्ट किसी भी काम का नहीं रहता वह कितनी भी उम्र का क्यों न हो जाए.

Aphorism 458 One reaps what he sows. हमें वही मिलेगा जो हमने बोया है.

Aphorism 459 One's intellect is conditioned by one's learning. व्यक्ति की बुद्धि वह जो विद्या ग्रहण करता है उसके अनुरूप ढलती है.

Aphorism 460 One's conduct is the reflection of one's family. हमारा व्यहवार हमारे कुल की ओर संकेत करता है.

Aphorism 461 A neem tree won't become a mango tree irrespective of applying jaggery all over. Whatever discourse etc a bad person recieves he sticks to his meanness. एक नीम का वृक्ष उसपर गुड छिड़कने से भी आम का नहीं हो जाता. एक बुरा आदमी उसे चाहे जो सीख दे दो बुराई नहीं छोड़ता.

Aphorism 462 A certain little is better than an uncertain plenty. एक निश्चित थोडा एक अनिश्चित बहोत से बेहतर है.

Aphorism 463 One himself is the cause of one's misery and not others. व्यक्ति स्वयं ही उसके दुःख का कारण है, दुसरे नहीं.

Aphorism 464 One should not travel in dark. हम अँधेरे में कही ना जाये.

Aphorism 465 One should not go to sleep past mid-night. आधी रात ढल जाने के बाद नींद के लिए सोना उचित नहीं. उससे पहले ही सो जाए.

Aphorism 466 When should one sleep, get up, eat, start journey all these things should be learnt from elders in the family or the intelligent people having experience. हम कब सोये, उठे, खाए, सफ़र पर जाए ये सब बाते बुजुर्गो से सीख ले. या किसी अनुभवी अकलमंद आदमी से सीख ले.

Aphorism 467 One should not enter someone's house without necessary approval or reason. किसी दुसरे के घर में बिना अधिकार या कारण के नहीं जाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 468 People understand well by their intellect that they are not doing a good work. Still they don't desist from doing wrong. लोग अपनी बुद्धि से समझ जाते है की वे कोई सही काम नहीं कर रहे. लेकिन वो गलत काम करने से बाज नहीं आते.

Aphorism 469 Whatever custom people follow have been developed on the basis of scriptures. लोग जो प्रथा निभाते है वो शास्त्रों के आधार पर ही बनी है.

Aphorism 470 One should follow what good people do if one is not able to understand scriptures. हमें यदि शास्त्र वचन नहीं समझता है तो अच्छे लोगो का अनुकरण करे.

Aphorism 471 A scripture is not more significant than good conduct. सदाचार से शास्त्र बड़ा नहीं है.

Aphorism 472 A King knows far away developments as if he is watching everything with his eyes on the basis of information received from his spies. राजा को बहुत दूर क्या हो रहा है पता चलता है. मानो उसकी आँख से ही दिखता है. अपने जासूसों से प्राप्त जानकारी के आधार पर वह यह कर सकता है.

Aphorism 473 Common people have herd mentality. सामान्य लोगो में भेड़ो की चाल चलने की आदत होती है.

Aphorism 474 One should never despise one's means of livelihood. व्यक्ति अपनी उपजीविका के साधन की घृणा ना करे.

Aphorism 475 The ultimate fruit of austerities is sense restraint. तप का अंतिम फल इन्द्रिय निग्रह है.

Aphorism 476 It needs a high level of will power and austerities when one is enticed by sexual pleasures. आदमी को तपोबल ही यौन सुख की तृष्णा से बचा सकता है.

Aphorism 477 Sexual passions leads to evil outcomes. वासना का परिणाम अशुभ होता है.

Aphorism 478 - 479 One should not approach sex for deriving pleasures but for discharging one's responsibilities. स्त्री पुरुष सम्बन्ध हीन आनंद पाने के लिए नहीं जिम्मेदारी को निभाने के लिए हो.

Aphorism 480 Those who work for social good should rise above sensual pleasures. जिन्हें समाज का भला करना है वे शारीर सुख से ऊपर उठे.

Aphorism 481 He is the knower of Vedas who knows the outcome of his austerities. जिसे अपने तप का फल पता है वह वेदों को जाननेवाला है.

Aphorism 482 There is no permanent place for anyone in heaven. One enjoys stay in heaven as long as one's stock of merit is not exhausted. स्वर्ग में किसीके लिए स्थायी जगह नहीं. सिर्फ तब तक स्वर्ग में रह सकता है जब तक पुण्य ख़तम नहीं हो जाते. स्वर्गस्थानम न शाश्वतं.

Aphorism 483 There is no grief for a common man greater than losing physical comforts and happiness. एक सामान्य आदमी के लिए शारीर के आराम और सुख को खोने से बड़ा कोई दुःख नहीं.

Aphorism 484 A person has so much attachment with his body that he won't agree to lose that even if he is offered status of Indra. आदमी को अपने शारीर से जबरदस्त आसक्ति होती है. यदि उसे कहा जाए की शरीर के बदले इंद्र पद ले लो तो वह मना कर दे.

Aphorism 485 Salvation is the only remedy for all unhappiness. मुक्ति ही सभी दुखो की दवा है.

Aphorism 486 A noble person as an enemy is better than an ignoble person as a friend. एक दुष्ट का मित्र होने से एक सज्जन का शत्रु होना अच्छा.

Aphorism 487 Our family loses glory if we speak bad words. यदि हम बुरे वचन कहते है तो घर का मान घटता है.

Aphorism 488 In all worldly happiness birth of son is the highest. दुनिया की सभी खुशीयों में पुत्र जन्म सर्वश्रेष्ठ है.

Aphorism 489 Don't forget righteousness when you are in conflicts. One should abide by righteousness when conflicts arise. आप सदाचार ना भूले जब आप विवादों में है. जब भी विवाद हो सदाचार से जुड़े रहे.

Aphorism 490 One should plan all day's work after rising early in the morning. हम ब्रह्म मुहूर्त में उठकर दिनभर के कामो की योजना बनाये.

Aphorism 491 and 492 He whose doom is not far away doesn't abide by good conduct. जिसका विनाश निकट है वह सदाचार का पालन नहीं करता.

Aphorism 493 One who is in need of milk should not keep an elephant. जिसे दूध चाहिए वह हाथी ना पाले.

Aphorism 494 If you want to win over people do charity to them. यदि आप लोगो को जीतना चाहते हो तो उनका भला करो.

Aphorism 495 One should not be impatient one wants to get something from others. यदि आपको दुसरो से कुछ चाहिए तो धीरज ना खोये.

Aphorism 496 If you earn something by foul means that can't be used for something good. यदि आप गलत मार्ग से कुछ पाते है तो उसका सदुपयोग नहीं कर सकते.

Aphorism 497 Only a crow can eat a bitter fruit. एक कौवा ही एक कड़वा फल खा सकता है.

Aphorism 498 One should not think that a huge wealth will be of great use. Whether water of a great ocean can be used for drinking purpose. आप को ऐसा नहीं समझना चाहिए की अपार संपत्ति आपके बहोत काम आएगी. क्या अपार समुद्र का पानी किसीको पिने के काम आता है.

Aphorism 499 As a grain of sand maintains it's hardness and distinct identity a vile person maintains his ego and doesn't mix with people. एक बालू का कण जैसे सख्त और बिलग बना रहता है, वैसे ही दुष्ट व्यक्ति अपने अहंकार को बनाये रखता है और लोगो से घुल मिल नहीं जाता.

Aphorism 500 Good people don't mix much with vile people. अच्छे लोग दुष्टों के साथ बहोत ज्यादा नहीं मिलते है.

Aphorism 501 A swan is never comfortable in a crematorium. Similarly good people don't like company of vile. एक हंस स्मशान में सुखपूर्वक नहीं रह सकता. उसीतरह अच्छे लोग दुष्टों की संगती पसंद नहीं करते.

Aphorism 502 The whole world is engaged in action to make money. पूरी दुनिया पैसा बनाने के लिए काम करती है.

Aphorism 503 Those who don't have discretion think that their desires should be fulfilled anyhow. They don't care about their duties and lose patience. जिन्हें विवेक नहीं होता उन्हें लगता है की उनकी इच्छा कुछ भी करके पूरी हो जाए. उन्हें अपने कर्त्तव्य का ध्यान नहीं रहता और वे धैर्य खो देते है.

Aphorism 504 Those who are ruled by desires are devoid of wealth. जो वासना के अधीन होते है उनके पास कोई सम्पदा नहीं होती.

Aphorism 505 Those ruled by desires don't have patience backed by stability of mind. जो वासना के अधीन होते है उनके पास मन की स्थिरता नहीं होती और उससे मिलने वाला धीरज भी नहीं होता.

Aphorism 506 It is better to die than to live a deprived life. एक निर्धन का जीवन जीने से बेहतर है की मर जाए.

Aphorism 507 Desires destroy all diffidence and probity. Desires stoke the fire of greed. वासना शर्म और निति को नष्ट करती है. वासना लोभ की अग्नि को भड़काती है.

Aphorism 508 509 One should not praise oneself. व्यक्ति खुदकी प्रशंसा ना करे.

Aphorism 510 One should not sleep during the day. दिन में ना सोये.

Aphorism 511 Those who are intoxicated by wealth don't listen to good advice from competent well-wishers. जिन्हें पैसे की मस्ती होती है वो लोग अधिकारी शुभ-चिंतको की सलाह नहीं मानते.

Aphorism 512 A good woman regards her husband as most pious and sacred. एक अच्छी औरत पति को पुण्यात्मा मानती है.

Aphorism 513 If a woman supports her husband in righteousness that leads to happiness and prosperity of the whole family. यदि पत्नी धर्म की राह पर पति का साथ दे तो घर को ख़ुशी और सम्पन्नता से भर सकती है.

Aphorism 514 One should respect guests coming all of a sudden and guests coming with a prior notice. हम सभी मेहमानों का सम्मान करे, बिना बताये आने वाले और बता कर आने वाले.

Aphorism 515 A charity done to an eligible donee never goes in vain. एक पात्र को जो दान दिया जाता है वो कभी व्यर्थ नहीं जाता.

Aphorism 516 If there arises any defect in the intelligence one considers one's enemy as one's friend. जब आदमी की बुद्धि में छिद्र आता है तो अपने दुश्मन को अपना मित्र समझता है.

Aphorism 517 A mirage is not water. Sensual pleasure is not happiness. मृग तृष्णा जल नहीं है. इन्द्रिय सुख सुख नहीं है.

Aphorism 518 Those who don't have rigtheousness write fake books. जिनमे सदाचार नहीं है वे सारहीन किताबे लिखते है.

Aphorism 519 An association with a saintly person gives heavenly pleasure. संतो के संग से स्वर्ग सुख की प्राप्ति होती है.

Aphorism 520 Good people behave the way they ask others to behave. सज्जन वैसा ही आचरण करते है जैसा दुसरो से कहते है.

Aphorism 521 Appearance is the reflection of one's virtue. हमारी प्रतीति हमारे गुणों का दर्पण है.

Aphorism 522 One should reside at a place where there are comforts. उस जगह रहे जहा सुविधाए है.

Aphorism 523 There is no deliverance for a treacherous person. एक दगाबाज आदमी की नरक से मुक्ति संभव नहीं.

Aphorism 524 One should not get worried for the things happening in the course of destiny. जो भाग्य से हो गया उसके बारे में बहुत चिंता ना करे.

Aphorism 525 A good person considers problems faced by others as his own problems and takes efforts for solving their problems as he would have done for himself. एक अच्छा व्यक्ति दुसरो की परेशानियों को अपनी परेशानी मानता है. उनकी परेशानियों से निपटने के लिए वो उतने ही कष्ट लेता है जितने खुदकी परेशानियों से निपटने के लिए.

Aphorism 526 Those who are evil will hide their meanness and will only speak sweet words. जो दुष्ट है वे खुदकी नीचता छुपायेंगे और सिफ मीठा मीठा बोलेंगे.

Aphorism 527 A foolish person deserves hatred. मुर्ख व्यक्ति घृणा का पात्र है.

Aphorism 528 One should not move without having necessary weapons to protect oneself. हम जब चले तो आत्म सुरक्षा के लिए हथियार पास रखे.

Aphorism 529 One should never praise one's child. एक पिता अपने लड़के की प्रशंसा ना करे.

Aphorism 530 Servants talk about the goodness of their master amidst people to make him popular. सेवकजन अपने स्वामी के शुभ कर्मो की लोगो में प्रशंसा करते है जिससे स्वामी प्रसिद्ध हो जाए.

Aphorism 531 Whenever dependent people do something good they attribute their work to their master. जब भी परावलम्बी लोग कुछ अच्छा करते है तो स्वामी को श्रेय देते है.

Aphorism 532 One should not make unreasonable delay in executing the King's commands. राजा की आज्ञा का पालन करने में अकारण विलम्ब ना करे.

Aphorism 533 One should execute King's commands to the best of one's abilities. राजा की आज्ञा का पालन अपनी योग्यता को पूर्ण इस्तेमाल करते हुए करे.

Aphorism 534 Those who are intelligent don't have any enemies. जो बुद्धिमान होते है उनके कोई शत्रु नहीं होते.

Aphorism 535 If you feel that some defect is about to set in your yourself you should not disclose it to others and try to rectify it. यदि आप पाते है की आपके व्यक्तित्व में कुछ कमजोरी आ गयी है तो किसी को ना बताये और उसे दूर करे.

Aphorism 536 One who demonstrates forgiveness performs his work successfully. जो क्षमाशील है वह अपना काम सफलता से करता है.

Aphorism 537 One should preserve some wealth for unforeseen contingencies. आगे आने वाली विपदा के लिए कुछ धन का संचय करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 538 One should join those who are walking the path of truth. उनके साथ चले जो सत्य की राह पर चल रहे है.

Aphorism 539 There is no need to postpone today's work tomorrow. आज के काम को कल पर ना टाले .

Aphorism 540 One should complete work to be done by noon in the morning itself. जो काम दोपहरतक करना है उसे सुबह ही कर ले.

Aphorism 541 The righteousness should be practical. सदाचार व्यवहार्य होना चाहिए. हमें सदाचार को व्यवहार में ढालते आना चाहिए.

Aphorism 542 One who understands people on the basis of one's sharp intelligence should be considered as all knowing. जिसे अपनी बुद्धि के बल पर लोगो को समझने की योग्यता है वह सर्वज्ञ है.

Aphorism 543 One who fails to understand people is a fool inspite of knowing scriptures. जो लोगो को नहीं समझ सकता वह शास्त्रों का ज्ञाता होने के बावजूद भी मुर्ख है.

Aphorism 544 The knowledge of sriptures should enable one understand things here and in the next world. शास्त्रों के अध्ययन से हमें इस जीवन को और अगले जीवन को समझने का ज्ञान मिलना चाहिए.

Aphorism 545 The power of discrimination that discerns good from bad illuminates the action. वह विवेक जो अच्छे को बुरे से परखने की दृष्टी देता है कर्म को प्रकाशित करता है.

Aphorism 546 Don't favour one at the cost of other. पक्षपात न करे.

Aphorism 547 Performance ranks higher than righteousness. व्यहवार धर्म से श्रेष्ठ है.

Aphorism 548 The soul is the witness of performance. आत्मा व्यहवार को देखता है.

Aphorism 549 Soul is the witness for everything that happens. आत्मा सबकुछ देखता है.

Aphorism 550 One should not be a false witness. हम कही झूठे गवाह ना बन जाए.

Aphorism 551 Those who give false witness go to hell. जो झूटे गवाह बनते है नरक को जाते है.

Aphorism 552 The five elements witness the sin that is commited in hiding. पञ्च महाभूत उस पाप को देखते है जो छुपकर किया जाता है.

Aphorism 553 A sinner glows his own sin. पापी अपने पाप को खुद प्रकाशित करता है.

Aphorism 554 A man's appearance speaks for the things going on in his mind. आदमी की प्रतीति उसके मन में जो हो रहा है कहती है.

Aphorism 555 It is impossible for anyone to prevent his face from speaking for his mind. ऐसा नहीं होगा की चेहरा दिल की बात बयां ना कर पायेगा.

Aphorism 556 The rulers protect public money from thieves and people working for the rulers. शासक जनता का धन चोरो से और शासको के लिए काम करने वालो से बचाते है.

Aphorism 557 If the rulers create a bad image of themselves they lead to ruin of people. यदि शासक अपनी बुरी प्रतिमा बनाते है तो जनता का विनाश करते है.

Aphorism 558 The rulers who create a good image of themselves create happiness for their people. शासक यदि अपनी अच्छी प्रतिमा बनाते है तो जनता के लिए सुख निर्माण करते है.

Aphorism 559 People consider the rulers with equity like their mother. जो शासक न्याय प्रिय होते है उन्हें जनता माँ के रूप में देखती है.

Aphorism 560 A good ruler creates happiness in this world and gets heaven in the next world. अच्छा शासक इस जीवन में सुख पाता है और अगले जीवन में स्वर्ग.

Aphorism 561 Non-violence is a mark of righteousness. अहिंसा धर्म का प्रतीक है.

Aphorism 562 A good person takes same care of others that he takes of himself. एक अच्छा आदमी दुसरो की उतनी ही चिंता करता है जितनी खुदकी.

Aphorism 563 Animals are in every way unfit for human consumption. Men should never eat non-veg. प्राणी इंसान का भोजन नहीं है. मानव मांस ना खाए.

Aphorism 564 One who has the knowledge has no fear. जिसे ज्ञान है उसे भय नही.

Aphorism 565 The lamp of knowledge puts an end to the fear of mundane existence. ज्ञान का दिया भौतिक जीवन के भय को मिटाता है.

Aphorism 566 The material happiness and all it's means are transient. भौतिक सुख और उसके सभी माध्यम नश्वर है.

Aphorism 567 The body that is a place for germs, bacteria, stool and urine can work as a factor for earning merit or commiting sin. वह देह जिसमे जीव, जंतु, मल, मूत्र है वही पाप या पुण्य निर्माण का साधन है.

Aphorism 568 The cycle of life and death is full of agony. जीवन मृत्यु का चक्र दुखमय है.

Aphorism 569 One can attain heaven on the basis of his austerities. तप के आधार पर स्वर्ग की प्राप्ति हो सकती है.

Aphorism 570 He who forgives furthers his austerities. जो क्षमा करता है उसके तप की वृद्धि होती है.

Aphorism 571 Austerities lead to accomplishment of all work. तप से हर काम साध्य होता है. इसके साथ ही ग्रन्थ समाप्त हुआ. This ends the book.

Aphorism 351 A progressive person due to lack of anger fortifies his intellect with his serious thinking. एक प्रगतीशील व्यक्ति क्रोध के आभाव के कारण अपनी बुद्धि को स्थिर करता है और गंभीर चिंतन करता है.

Aphorism 352 You should not create conflicts with those who are intelligent, foolish, friends, preceptor and for whom your master uses kind words. आप ऐसे लोगो से विवाद न करे जो बुद्धिमान है, मुर्ख है, मित्र है, गुरु है और जिनके लिए आपका स्वामी अच्छे वचनों का प्रयोग करता है.

Aphorism 353 There can't be any prosperity without appropriating money belonging to others. दुसरो की दौलत लिए बिना सम्पन्नता नहीं आती.

Aphorism 354 Those who chase money don't like taking any efforts for good things. जो पैसे के पीछे ही भागते रहते है वो कोई अच्छा काम करने का प्रयत्न नहीं करते.

Aphorism 355 Those who depend on a vehicle lose their own speed. जिन्हें गति के लिए वाहन चाहिए वे अपनी गति खो देते है.

Aphorism 356 A wife is a shackle that ties a man. पत्नी वह बंधन है जो आदमी को बांधता है.

Aphorism 357 One should be deployed in that work which he knows well. आदमी को वह काम सौपना चाहिए जो वह करने में माहिर है.

Aphorism 358 A harsh wife creates agony. एक कठोर पत्नी वेदना देती है.

Aphorism 359 One should observe how his wife behaves. आदमी को उसकी पत्नी का व्यवहार देखना चाहिए.

Aphorism 360 One should not trust a woman. आदमी को एक औरत पर विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 361 A woman doesn't know the ways the world works and she lacks any stability of mind. एक औरत को दुनियादारी की समझ नहीं होती है और उसके मन में कोई स्थिरता भी नहीं होती है.

Aphorism 362 When all our teachers are ranked Mother occupies the first rank. जब हम हमारे गुरुओ का क्रम लगाते है तो माँ का क्रमांक सबसे उपार होता है.

Aphorism 363 A son should always see that he meets all needs of his mother. एक लड़के ने यह देखना चाहिए की उसके माँ की सभी जरूरते वह पूरी करे.

Aphorism 364 A man's intelligence gets covered by his dressing. आदमी का पोशाख उसकी बुद्धि को ढक देता है.

Aphorism 365 A restricted appearance is the embellishment for a woman. मर्यादा स्त्री का अलंकार है.

Aphorism 366 The knowledge of Vedas is a true embellishment for brahmins. वेदों का ज्ञान ब्राह्मण का अलंकार है.

Aphorism 367 Truthfulness is the embellishment of all human-beings. सत्यशीलता मानव का अलंकार है.

Aphorism 368 Wisdom paired with humility is the best of all embellishments. विद्या जो विनय के साथ जुडी हुई है यह एक सर्वोत्तम अलंकार है.

Aphorism 369 One should live in a region that has no turbulence. व्यक्ति उस जगह रहे जहा कोई उत्पात नहीं.

Aphorism 370 A region is fit for living where there is a majority of truthful good people. वह भाग जीने के लिए अच्छा है जहा सज्जनों की बहुसंख्या है.

Aphorism 371 One should not invite King's wrath. व्यक्ति को राजा के क्रोध का पात्र नहीं बनना चाहिए.

Aphorism 372 There is no God greater than King. राजा से बढ़कर कोई देव नहीं.

Aphorism 373 The wrath of King is capable of burning those who revolt against him by reaching all corners of the State. राजा की क्रोधाग्नि द्रोह करने वालो को राज्य के किसी भी कोने में पहुचकर दहन करने में सक्षम है.

Aphorism 374 One should never go to a King with empty hands. व्यक्ति को राजा के पास खाली हाथ नहीं जाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 375 Similarly we should not go with empty hands to the preceptor and the one who is held in high esteem. अपने गुरु के पास खाली हाथ नहीं जाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 376 We should not become a subject of revile for those close to the royal family. जो लोग राज परिवार के निकट है उन्हें हमारा द्वेषी नहीं बनाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 377 One should go often to the court of King. राज सभा में हरदम जाते रहना चाहिए.

Aphorism 378 One should be friendly to the ministers and friends of King. राजा के मंत्रियो और मित्रो के साथ मित्रता बनाये रखना चाहिए.

Aphorism 379 One should not make personal relations with the women working for the King. राजा के यहाँ काम करने वाली औरतो से वैयक्तिक सम्बन्ध नहीं बनाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 380 One should not see the King in his eyes. राजा को आंख में आँख डालकर नहीं देखना चाहिए.

Aphorism 381 A father feels great happiness when he has a son with virtue and good conduct. पिता को परम सुख मिलता है यदि उसका पुत्र सद्गुणी और सदाचारी होता है.

Aphorism 382 Sons should be good at excelling all faculties of wisdom. बुद्धि के हर क्षेत्र में लडको ने अपना विकास करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 383 One should leave a village that turns hostile to the State. उस गाव को छोड़ देना चाहिए जो राज्य के विरुद्ध व्यवहार करता है.

Aphorism 384 One should leave a family and support his village if any such contradiction arises. उस परिवार को छोड़ देना चाहिए जो गाव के विरुद्ध व्यवहार करता है.

Aphorism 385 The birth of a son is the highest benefit. पुत्र का जन्म सर्वश्रेष्ठ लाभ है.

Aphorism 386 A son protects his parents from calamities. पुत्र माँ बाप को दुविधा में सहारा देता है.

Aphorism 387 A good child by the dint of his wisdom, charity, status, honours and righteousness glorifies his family. एक अच्छा पुत्र अपने सदाचार, बुद्धिमत्ता, सम्मान और धर्म के आधार पर घर की गरिमा बढ़ता है.

Aphorism 388 He who doesn't have a good son has no happiness. जिस व्यक्ति को सतपुत्र नहीं है उसे कोई सुख नहीं है.

Aphorism 389 A mother that gives birth to good children is a great wife. जो स्त्री अच्छे पुत्रो को जन्म देती है एक अच्छी पत्नी है.

Aphorism 393 A wife is not an object of sensual pleasure. She is the nourisher of family and sustains infinite existence of family by giving birth to children. पत्नी इन्द्रिय सुख का साधन नहीं है. वह परिवार को अपने प्रेम से सींचती है और पुत्रो को जन्म देकर परिवार को अनंत समय तक बनाये रखती है.

Aphorism 394 One should not see a woman working at his house with a malicious intention. One gets to a very low level by doing so. अपने घर काम करने वाली स्त्री को बुरी निगाह से ना देखे. आदमी ऐसा करने से अत्यंत निम्न स्तर पर जाता है.

Aphorism 395 A man who is all set for his doom disregards good advice offered by his well wishers. व्यक्ति जब विनाश को प्राप्त होने को होता है तो अपने हितैषियो की अच्छी सलाह नहीं सुनता है.

Aphorism 396 One need not worry about his physical comforts. अपने सुख सुविधाओ की अधिक चिंता मत करो.

Aphorism 397 As children chase their mother, happiness and sorrows follow the action that a man takes. जिस प्रकार बच्चे माँ के पीछे पीछे होते है, सुख दुःख कर्म के पीछे चलते है.

Aphorism 398 Good people always remember any small favour done to them always as if they were done a great favour. सज्जन उनके प्रति किये हुए एक छोटे उपकार को भी एक बहोत बड़ा उपकार समझकर हरदम याद रखते है.

Aphorism 399 A person who lacks all gratitude and eligibility should not be done any favour. वह व्यक्ति जिसमे कोई योग्यता और कृतज्ञता नहीं उसपर कोई उपकार ना किया जाए.

Aphorism 400 A person with malicious heart who has no gratitude just to release himself from the burden of gratitude turns hostile. जो कमीना आदमी होता है कृतज्ञता के बोझ से छुटकारा पाने के लिए शत्रुता कर लेता है.

Aphorism 401 A good person never sits quiet unless he pays back the favour received. एक सज्जन तब तक शांत नहीं बैठता जबतक लिया हुआ अहसान चूका ना दे.

Aphorism 402 One should never offend marks of divinity in any form. हमें परमात्मा के किसी भी चिन्ह का अपमान नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 403 The greatest light is one's eye-sight. नेत्र ज्योति ही सर्वोत्तम प्रकाश है.

Aphorism 404 The vision of knowledge enables one to shun the wrong path. ज्ञान दृष्टि ही गलत मार्ग पर चलने से रोकती है.

Aphorism 405 The jounrney of life becomes very difficult if the eye-sight is lost. यदि दृष्टी खो जाती है तो जीवन का सफ़र मुश्किल हो जाता है.

Aphorism 406 One should never urinate in any water. पानी में मूत्र नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 407 One should never dive into water fully naked. पानी में नग्न नहीं जाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 408 One has a knowledge like one's appearance. वेशभूषा से ज्ञान का अनुमान होता है.

Aphorism 409 One has wealth like one's knowledge. ज्ञान के अनुपात में संपत्ति होती है.

Aphorism 410 Don't use fire to fight fire. Don't become angry with someone who is angry with you. आग आग से नहीं बुझती है. यदि कोई आप पर गुस्सा होता है तो आप उसपर गुस्सा मत होइए.

Aphorism 411 Those who practice austerities are honoured by all. जो तप करते है हर जगह सम्मान पाते है.

Aphorism 412 One should never think about having a relationship with a lady who belong's to someone else. पर स्त्री से सम्बन्ध का विचार भी ना करे.

Aphorism 413 If one donates food that can wash sins one has commited. अन्न दान पापो से मुक्त कराता है.

Aphorism 414 Vedas provide excellent framework for righteousness. वेद धर्म की उत्तम व्याख्या करते है.

Aphorism 415 A man should do some righteousness some how. आदमी को कैसे भी कुछ तो सदाचार करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 416 Truthfulness grants one the status of uninterrupted bliss. सत्य आदमी को निश्छल सुख प्रदान करता है.

Aphorism 417 No austerity in the world is greater than truthfulness. सत्य से बड़ा कोई तप नहीं है.

Aphorism 418 Truthfulness is the means and Truthfulness is the end. सत्य ही माध्यम है, सत्य ही लक्ष्य है.

Aphorism 419 The harmony among people rests on truthfulness. लोगो का सुसंवाद सत्य पर निर्भर है.

Aphorism 420 Many celestial favours are showered on the one who abides by truthfulness. उस पर देव लोक के अनेक आशीर्वाद बरसते है जो सत्य पर कायम रहता है.

Aphorism 421 There is no sin greater than a false action. झूठ से बड़ा पाप कोई नहीं.

Aphorism 422 We should not try to identify the defects in what our teachers say. हमें हमारे गुरुजनों के वचनों में छिद्र नहीं ढूंढने चाहिए.

Aphorism 423 One should shun evil in all forms. सभी प्रकार की बुराइयों से बचे.

Aphorism 424 None is friendly to a cunning man. एक धूर्त का कोई मित्र नहीं होता.

Aphorism 425 A poor is always concerned about his life. एक निर्धन को अपनी ही पड़ी रहती है.

Aphorism 426 A person who shows bravery in giving charities is really brave. जो दान देने में साहस दिखाता है वह सचमुच साहसी है.

Aphorism 427 Devotion to teachers and brahmanas is the embellishment of man. गुरुजनों और ब्राह्मणों के प्रति भक्ति भाव ही अलंकार है.

Aphorism 429 A person who takes pride in his being a member of a great family and devoid of any great values is definitely inferior to a truthful person born in a low class family पहला व्यक्ति एक बड़े घर में पैदा हुआ है और कुछ भी महान गुण नहीं रखता है, दूसरा व्यक्ति मामूली घर में पैदा हुआ है लेकिन सत्यशील है. पहले से दूसरा बेहतर है.

Aphorism 430 Good conduct causes rise in lifespan and glory. सदाचरण से आयु और तेज में वृद्धि होती है.

Aphorism 431 One should not speak pleasing words to someone which will actually harm him. ऐसे मीठे वचन ना कहे जो हानिकारक है.

Aphorism 432 Don't follow someone against the good of majority of people. जो बहुमत के विरुद्ध है उसका अनुकरण ना करे.

Aphorism 433 A person should not do any work in association with people who are base, cruel and bad. उनके सहयोग से कोई काम ना करो जो नीच, क्रूर और बुरे है.

Aphorism 434 Don't associate yourself with base people even though they have good fortune. संपन्न नीच लोगो से भी मेलजोल ना रखे.

Aphorism 435 Always ensure that you reduce a loan, an enemy and a disease to zero. यह निश्चित करे की आप ऋण को, शत्रु को और रोग को पूर्ण रूपसे ख़त्म कर दे.

Aphorism 436 He who has wealth leads a long and healthy life. जो संपन्न होता है वह लम्बा और स्वस्थ जीवन जीता है.

Aphorism 437 Don't offend someone who seeks something from you. उसका अपमान ना करो जो तुमसे कुछ मांगने आया है.

Aphorism 438 A base person will ask you to do something tough. He will offend you irrespective of whether the work fails, partially or fully succeeds. जो नीच व्यक्ति है वह आपको बहोत मुश्किल काम करने कहेगा. वह आपका अपमान करेगा चाहे आप काम करने में विफल हो, कुछ सफल हो या पूर्ण सफल हो.

Aphorism 439 A person who doesn't show any gratitude for the favours received can't save himself from the torments of hell. जो व्यक्ति प्राप्त अहसान के लिए कृतज्ञता नहीं रखता वह अपने आप को नरक यातना से नहीं बचा सकता.

Aphorism 440 A person's growth and doom depends on the sweet words and harsh words he speaks. विकास या बर्बादी व्यक्ति जो मीठे और कडवे वचन बोलता है उसपर निर्भर करती है.

Aphorism 441 One may make his tongue of poison or nectar whatever he likes. अपनी जिह्वा को हम अमृत से या विष से भर सकते है.

Aphorism 442 He who always do good to others don't have any enemies. जो सबका भला करता है उसे कोई शत्रु नहीं होता.

Aphorism 443 If you say something to Gods in praise they get pleased. Do you think that you can't please human-beings by speaking sweet words. आप देवो से भी उनकी स्तुति करते है तो वे प्रसन्न होते है, तो क्या इंसान प्रसन्न नहीं होंगे यदि आप उनकी स्तुति करते हो.

Aphorism 444A word spoken with an intention of causing agony to others makes it's marks on the mind of the listener for a long time. जिस शब्द से दुसरे का अपमान होता है वह शब्द उसपर गहरा घाव करता है.

Aphorism 445 One should not say unpleasing words to King or his representative. एक राजा या उसके प्रतिनिधि से कडवे वचन ना कहे.

Aphorism 446 A cuckoo pleases a human-being. One should speak sweet words based on truth to the King and keep him in good humour. कोकिला मनुष्यों को प्रसन्न करती है. राजा से मीठी वाणी में बात करे और उसे प्रसन्न रखे.

Aphorism 447 An effort for a bad action creates agony. एक बुरे कर्म के लिए यत्न वेदना को जन्म देता है.

Aphorism 448 There is no place of honour in the society either to the one who seeks favour or to the one who is a wealthy miser. याचक या कंजूस दौलतमंद को समाज में कोई इज्जत नहीं होती.

Aphorism 449 A woman is embellished by the great fortune she creates by her commitment and loyalty to her family. घर के प्रति उसकी निष्ठां से स्त्री खुद को सौभाग्यवती बनती है.

Aphorism 450 One should not destroy means of livelihood even of an enemy. शत्रु की भी उपजीविका का नाश ना करे.

Aphorism 252 You should not ignore your enemy if he seems to be indifferent in his retaliatory attack. आपको अपने शत्रु को दुर्लक्षित नहीं करना चाहिए यदि आप को ऐसा लगता है की वह पलट वार करने में उत्सुक नहीं है.

Aphorism 253 A petty addiction may lead to one's total destruction. एक मामूली व्यसन भी आदमी को पूरी तरह बर्बाद कर सकता है.

Aphorism 254 A man thinks that he will live forever and he is always busy after things necessary for sustaining his life. आदमी को ऐसा लगता है की वह अनंत काल तक जियेगा और वह हरदम जीवनावश्यक चीजे बटोरने के पीछे लगा रहता है.

Aphorism 255 One who is wealthy commands respect on the basis of one's wealth. जो व्यक्ति धनवान है वह अपने धन के बदौलत सम्मान हासिल करता है.

Aphorism 256 Even if the Indra, The King of Heaven loses wealth he won't be respected anymore. यदि स्वर्ग का राजा इंद्र भी संपत्ति खो देता है तो सम्मान नहीं पायेगा.

Aphorism 257 Poverty makes a living man a corpse. गरीबी इंसान को एक जीती जगती लाश बना देती है.

Aphorism 258 One who is wealthy and gives donation becomes subject matter of everyone's interest even if he is ugly in his looks. वह धनवान व्यक्ति जो दान देता है वह सबकी रूचि का विषय बन जाता है, भले ही वह कुरूप हो.

Aphorism 259 Those who are in need of money seek favour from a wealthy person knowing well that he is a miser. जो जरूरतमंद लोग है वो एक धनवान आदमी से धन मांगते है जबकि उन्हें मालूम होता है की वह कंजूस है.

Aphorism 260 The wealthy person who puts his wealth to social good though not belonging to a good family commands more respect compared to those who belong to good families but who don't do any social good. एक धनि आदमी जो अच्छे कुल से नहीं है, लेकिन जो जनकल्याण के लिए अपनी संपत्ति को इस्तमाल करता है तो ज्यादा सम्मान पाता है. एक अच्छे कुल वाला भी यदि वह समाज के लिए कुछ नहीं करता तो उतना सम्मान नहीं पाता है.

Aphorism 261 A base person never fears that he may be offended or despised. एक नीच आदमी को यह डर नहीं होता है की लोग उसका अपमान करेंगे या उससे घृणा करेंगे.

Aphorism 262 People who are pragmatic and clever don't bother about their livelihood. जो लोग व्यवहार कुशल और चतुर होते है उन्हें अपने गुजारे की चिंता नहीं होती.

Aphorism 263 He who controls his senses doesn't have any doubts of losing balance when he is exposed to the material world. जो व्यक्ति अपने इन्द्रियों को नियंत्रण में रखता है उसे दुनिया में जीते वक़्त फिसलने का डर नहीं रहता.

Aphorism 264 Those who know the secrets of life and have clarity about their duties don't fear death. जिन्हें जीवन के रहस्य पता है उन्ही अपने कर्त्तव्य के बारे में संदेह नहीं है और वो मौत से भी डरते नहीं है.

Aphorism 265 Good people want that wealth of others should also be put to noble use. जो अच्छे लोग होते है वो दुसरो की संपत्ति देखकर द्वेष नहीं करते है अपितु वे चाहते है की दुसरो की संपत्ति का भी सद उपयोग हो.

Aphorism 266 One should not look at wealth of others with an eye of greed. हमें दुसरो की संपत्ति को लोभ की दृष्टी से नहीं देखना चाहिए.

Aphorism 267 If one looks at  the wealth of others with an eye of greed, he may harm his social relations and may lead to his self-destruction. यदि व्यक्ति दुसरो की संपत्ति को लोभ दृष्टी से देखता है तो उसके सामाजिक सम्बन्ध बिगड़ सकते है और वह खुद का विनाश कर सकता है.

Aphorism 268 One should not steal any wealth even as much as a blade of grass. हमें दुसरो की घास के तिनके जितनी भी संपत्ति चुराना नहीं चाहिए.

Aphorism 269 One who steals wealth of others causes destruction of his own wealth. जो दुसरो की संपत्ति चुराता है अपनी संपत्ति का विनाश करता है.

Aphorism 270 The noose of death is not as painful as that of poaching. मौत का फन्दा उतना दर्द नहीं देता है जितना चोरी करने का.

Aphorism 271 One need not steal anything to maintain one's life. One can maintain one's life with bare minimum things. एक आदमी को उसका जीवन बसर करने के लिए चोरी करने की कोई जरुरत नहीं. वह अपनी जिंदगी को न्यूनतम जरूरतों के आधार पर बसर करे.

Aphorism 272 There is no need of any remedy after death. मरने के बाद कोइ दवा काम की नहीं.

Aphorism 273 The State should maintain it's supremacy under normal conditions. सामान्य परिस्थितियों में राज्य अपने वर्चस्व को बनाये रखे.

Aphorism 274 Even good qualities of base people are applied for ulterior purpose. बुरे लोग अपने सद्गुणों को भी गलत काम में लगाते है.

Aphorism 275 A base person applies all his wisdom for doing base things so whatever wisdom is imparted to him becomes counter-productive. एक नीच आदमी अपना दिमाग नीच काम में लगाता है. उसे यदि आप कोई विद्या देते भी है तो वह उससे उत्पात ही करेगा.

Aphorism 276 There is nothing more useful than food for life. अन्न से ज्यादा आवश्यक जीने के लिए कुछ नहीं.

Aphorism 277 There is no enemy of the State like scarcity of food or un-satiated hunger of people. अन्न की कमी या प्रजा की अतृप्त भूख राज्य का सबसे बड़ा शत्रु है.

Aphorism 278 One who doesn't take any efforts, who is devoid of action and lazy is bound to die of starvation. जो व्यक्ति कोई भी प्रयत्न नहीं करता है, कोई काम नहीं करता है और आलसी है उसका भूखा मरना तय है.

Aphorism 279 He who suffers from pangs of hunger doesn't consider anything to be unfit for eating. जिसे भूख लगी है उसके लिए अभक्ष्य कुछ भी नहीं होता.

Aphorism 280 He who puts his sense organs to unlimited use gets old earlier. जो अपने इन्द्रियों का अति प्रयोग करता है वह जल्दी ही बुढा हो जाता है.

Aphorism 281 You should serve that master who considers no difference between his own life and the life of his people. आप उसी स्वामी की सेवा करे जो खुद के और उसके लोगो के जीवन में कोई अंतर नहीं समझता है.

Aphorism 282 He whose master lacks sympathy thinks that he will get fire from a firefly. जो स्वामी दुसरो के प्रति सहानुभूति नहीं रखता वह मानो जुगनू से अंगार पाना चाहता है.

Aphorism 283 One should serve that master who respects and discerns virtue. उस स्वामी की सेवा करे जिसे गुणों की परख है और वह उनकी इज्जत करता है.

Aphorism 284 Intercourse leads a man to his senility. सम्भोग की अति से आदमी वृध्त्व प्राप्त करता है.

Aphorism 285 Intercourse leads a woman to her senility. सम्भोग की अति से औरत वृद्धत्व प्राप्त करती है.

Aphorism 286 There should not be a marital bond between a base person and a great person. एक नीच और एक महान के बीच विवाह नहीं होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 287 and 288 There is no enemy greater than ego. अहंकार से बढ़कर कोई शत्रु नहीं.

Aphorism 289 One should not offend one's enemy at a meeting and convert it from a place where thoughts prevail to a place where people hurt one another. व्यक्ति को अपने शत्रु का सभा में अपमान नहीं करना चाहिए. इससे विचार सभा का रूपांतरण मूढ़ सभा में हो जाता है.

Aphorism 290 It is a pleasure to know that the enemy is not doing well. यह सुनने में अच्छा लगता है की शत्रु बेहाल है.

Aphorism 291 A deprived person has no intellect or his intellect fails to deliver. एक निर्धन व्यक्ति को या तो दिमाग होता नहीं या उसका दिमाग काम नहीं करता.

Aphorism 292 If a deprived person tells something beneficial none listens. एक निर्धन व्यक्ति यदि कोई काम की बात कहता है तो कोई नहीं सुनता.

Aphorism 293 A man who doesn't have money to buy household necessities is offended by his wife. जिस व्यक्ति के पास घर की जरूरते पूरा करने के लिए भी धन नहीं होता वह अपनी पत्नी से ही अपमानित होता है.

Aphorism 294 As the Mango tree is left by the bees when it's flowering season is over, everyone deserts a poor man as relationship with him doesn't offer any economic prospects. जिस प्रकार आम के वृक्ष को भौरे फूलो का मौसम बीतने के बाद छोड़ देते है उसी तरह एक गरीब आदमी से सम्बन्ध रखकर धन नहीं मिल सिकता यह सोचकर लोग उससे संबंधो को तोड़ते है.

Aphorism 295 Wisdom is the wealth of the poor. बुद्धिमत्ता ही निर्धन का धन है.

Aphorism 296 As wisdom is stored internally and it is secret there is no possibility of any theft. बुद्धिमत्ता अंतर में होती है और वह गुप्त होती है इसलिए उसकी चोरी का कोई खतरा नहीं होता.

Aphorism 297 Wisdom widens the horizons of success. बुद्धिमत्ता सफलता के क्षितिजों को बढाती है.

Aphorism 298 A material body dies, the glory lives forever. स्थूल शारीर का अंत होता है, कीर्ति कायम रहती है.

Aphorism 299 One who strives for the good of others is a good person. जो व्यक्ति दुसरो के भले के लिए प्रयत्न करता है वह एक अच्छा व्यक्ति है.

Aphorism 300 If one says that he has gained knowledge from scriptures, he should demonstrate calmness of his senses. यदि कोई व्यक्ति कहता है की उसको शास्त्रों का ज्ञान है तो उसकी परीक्षा यह है की वह अपने इन्द्रियों पर संयम पा चूका है या नहीं.

Aphorism 301 The beacon of scriptures desists a person from doing anything wrong. जिसे शास्त्रों का ज्ञान प्राप्त है वह कोई गलत काम नहीं करता.

Aphorism 302 The wisdom of a base man is useless and should not be acquired. एक नीच आदमी की बुद्धिमत्ता व्यर्थ है और वह हासिल करने की किसीको कोई जरुरत नहीं.

Aphorism 303 One should not learn language of a base man. हम एक नीच से उसकी भाषा ना सीखे.

Aphorism 304 One may learn commitment from a base person. Of course not the subject matter of commitment. एक दुर्जन से उसके दुर्गुण नहीं उसकी दुर्गुणों के प्रति जो प्रतिबद्धता है वह सीखे.

Aphorism 305 One should not ignore the virtue of a virtuous man by becoming intolerant. एक गुणवान के प्रति असहिष्णु होकर उसके गुणों का अनादर ना करे.

Aphorism 306 One should learn virtue even from one's enemy. आपको आपके शत्रु से भी गुण ग्रहण करने चाहिए.

Aphorism 307 One may extract nectar from poison if possible. यदि संभव हो तो विष से भी अमृत निकाले.

Aphorism 308 A person gets respect only under favourable conditions. व्यक्ति को अनुकूल परिस्थिति के चलते ही आदर प्राप्त होता है.

Aphorism 309 A man is respected only in the areas of his influence. व्यक्ति को उसी क्षेत्र में आदर प्राप्त होता है जिसमे वह प्रतिभा रखता है.

Aphorism 310 Those who are decorated with wisdom, humility, knowledge of scriptures, righteousness and knowledge are called as Arya, gentle, good. जो लोग बुद्धिमत्ता, विनयशीलता, शास्त्रों का बोध, सदाचार और ज्ञान से अलंकृत होते है वही आर्य, सभ्य या अच्छे कहलाते है.

Aphorism 311 One should never exceed the limit of good conduct. हमें कभी भी सदाचार की सीमा नहीं छोड़ना चाहिए.

Aphorism 312 One who has become good by the dint of one's lifelong penance can't be glorified by any title or material means. वह व्यक्ति जिसने जन्म भर के ताप से अच्छाई हासिल की है उसे इस दुनिया की कोई भी उपाधि या पारितोषिक से क्या नवाजा जा सकता है.

Aphorism 313 There is no gem as valuable as a woman who adores her home. वह स्त्री रत्न है जो अपने घर के प्रति समर्पित है.

Aphorism 314 Men of virtue are rare in this world. गुणवान लोग इस दुनिया में दुर्लभ है.

Aphorism 315 If a person indulges in condemned actions he loses his status of being a human-being. जो व्यक्ति जघन्य कर्म करता है वह अपनी मनुष्यता को खो देता है.

Aphorism 316 A person who is devoid of any action and who observes no self restraint doesn't have any right to study scriptures. जो व्यक्ति अकर्मण्य है और जो संयम नहीं रखता उसे शास्त्रों के अध्ययन का कोई अधिकार नहीं है.

Aphorism 317 He who has no control over his sense organs can't abide by scriptures or can't be happy. जिसे अपने इन्द्रियों पर संयम नहीं है वह शास्त्र के वचनों का पालन भी नहीं कर सकता और सुखी भी नहीं हो सकता.

Aphorism 318 A man who observes no self restraint is not given any respect by his wife. वह आदमी जिसमे कोई संयम नहीं है अपनी पत्नी से भी सम्मान नहीं पाता है.

Aphorism 319 Only trees capable of flowering are offered water and not the dried trees. Those who wish to grant favours prefers them who are good. उन्ही झाडो को पानी से सींचा जाता है जो पुष्प और फल दे सकते है, उन झाडो को नहीं जो सूख गए है. उसी प्रकार जब किसीमे भला करने की इच्छा जागती है तो वह जो अच्छा है उसी का भला करते है.

Aphorism 320 There is no possibility of getting any food by boiling sand. Similarly happiness is not created by foolish means. बालू को उबालने से अन्न नहीं बनता उसी तरह सुख का निर्माण मुर्खता पूर्ण तरीके से संभव नहीं है.

Aphorism 321 People who have acquired great virtues should not be ridiculed. हमें गुणवान व्यक्ति की मजाक नहीं उड़ाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 322 One should remember that the cause effect relationship always prevails. So there can't be anything good from something bad. शुभ कर्मो से ही शुभ का निर्माण संभव है.

Aphorism 323 The purpose of the work is more decisive than the constellation when the work is undertaken. काम करते समय नक्षत्र कैसा है इससे फरक नहीं पड़ता, हा इससे पड़ता है की काम का उद्दिष्ट क्या है.

Aphorism 324 If some work is to be done urgently, there is no need to assess the constellation. यदि काम को जल्दी करना है तो नक्षत्र देखने की जरुरत नहीं.

Aphorism 325 If someone becomes known to you well, his defects won't remain hidden. यदि आप किसीको जानते है तो उसकी खामी आपसे छुपी नहीं रहती.

Aphorism 326 A sinner judges others with his own standards and concludes that others are just like him. एक पापी दुसरो को अपनी ही नजरो से देखता है और उसे सब अपने जैसे ही दिखते है.

Aphorism 327 It is very difficult to change one's disposition. किसी का स्वभाव बदलना बहोत मुश्किल है.

Aphorism 328 The penalty should be commensurate with the offense. दंड अपराध के अनुरूप होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 329 The answer should be commensurate with the query. उत्तर प्रश्न के अनुरूप होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 330 One should decorate one's exterior within one's economic means. व्यक्ति ने खुद को बाहर से उतना ही सजाना चाहिए जितना उसकी आर्थिक परिस्थिति में संभव हो.

Aphorism 331 One's conduct should be compatible with one's family. व्यक्ति का बर्ताव उसके कुल के अनुरूप होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 332 One's efforts should match the work that he has to do. व्यक्ति के प्रयत्न उसके काम के अनुरूप होने चाहिए.

Aphorism 333 Donation should be made taking into account the eligibility of the donee. दान पात्रता देखकर ही देना चाहिए.

Aphorism 334 One's robes should be compatible with one's state. व्यक्ति के कपडे उसकी परिस्थिति के अनुरूप ही होने चाहिए.

Aphorism 335 A servant should always favour his Master by his actions. सेवक को स्वामी का हरदम हित करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 336 A wife should always favour her husband. पत्नी को पति का हित करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 337 A disciple should always execute his preceptor's command. शिष्य को गुरु की आज्ञा का पालन करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 338 A son should always follow his father's wishes. पुत्र को पिता की इच्छा को पूर्ण करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 339 If someone is doing unreasonable favor to you that should arise your suspicion. यदि कोई आपको जरुरत से ज्यादा उदारता दिखा रहा है तो आप को शक करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 340 If your master gets angry you should please him. यदि स्वामी क्रोधित होता है तो उसे शांत करे.

Aphorism 341 As a child that is beaten by his mother goes back to his mother and asks anything he wants from her only, so should one go back to one's people even if they seem to be harsh in their behaviour. एक बच्चा माँ से पिटे जाने के बाद माँ के ही आंचल में जाकर अपनी बात रोता है उसी तरह आपके अपने लोग यदि आपसे सख्ती से पेश आते है फिर भी आपको उनके पास जा कर ही अपनी बात कहनी चाहिए.

Aphorism 342 The elderly people who love you won't harm you by their anger. जो बड़े लोग आपसे प्रेम करते है वो उनके क्रोध से आपका बुरा नहीं करेंगे.

Aphorism 343 A foolish person can't see his own mistake and always finds faults with others. मुर्ख को अपनी कोई गलती नहीं दिखती सब खोट दुसरो में ही दिखती है.

Aphorism 344 Those who are cunning serve others with some ulterior motive. जो धूर्त होते है वो दुसरो का भला किसी मतलब से ही करते है.

Aphorism 345 These people have their own interest and their service is just a formality. उनका निहित स्वार्थ होता है और भला करना तो एक दिखावा होता है.

Aphorism 346 If a person known to you gives unjust favours that should arise your suspicion. यदि आपका परिचित आदमी आपके ऊपर कुछ ज्यादा ही अनुग्रह करे तो आपको संशय होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 347 As a cow with some problem is better than thousand dogs, a servant without any formality is better than thousands who are set to decieve. एक गाय जिसमे कुछ खामी है हजार कुत्तो से बेहतर है. उसी तरह एक सेवक जो दिखावा नहीं करता हज्जारो दिखावा करने वालो से बेहतर है.

Aphorism 348 It is better to be contented with a small pigeon that you have today than a big pea-cock that you will have in future. आज आपके पास में जो एक छोटा कबूत्तर है उससे आपको ज्यादा संतोष होना चाहिए बजाय उस मोर के जो आपके पास भविष्य में होगा.

Aphorism 349 If any work is beset with immorality it corrupts the duty and defeats the purpose of the work. यदि कोई काम अनैतिक है तो उससे कर्त्तव्य दूषित होता है और काम का प्रयोजन भी विफल होता है.

Aphorism 350 He who is devoid of anger may conquer the whole world. जिसमे क्रोध नहीं है वह पूरी दुनिया को जीत सकता है.

Aphorism 165 A person should be commited to his credibility and duty to the State at the cost of his life. व्यक्ति को राज्य के प्रति अपनी विश्वसनीयता और कर्त्तव्य बुद्धि को बनाये रखना चाहिए चाहे उसे अपने प्राणों की बाजी क्यों ना लगानी पड़े.

Aphorism 166 Those who cause disputes among people on the basis of secrets known to them are deserted even by their family members. जो लोग गुप्त जानकारी के आधार पर लोगो में झगडे लगाते है अपने ही परिवार के लोगो द्वारा छोड़ दिए जाते है.

Aphorism 167 If people who don't have any standing tell you something worthwhile you should listen to them. यदि वे लोग जिनकी कोई हैसियत नहीं है आपको कुछ कामकी बात बताते है तो आपको उन्हें सुनना चाहिए.

Aphorism 168 Don't tell the truth to a person who is not eligible to know the truth, who derails the truth, who doesn't have any faith and who may find the truth bitter. If you do that you are offending the truth. उसे सत्य न बताये जो सत्य को जानने का अधिकारी नहीं है. जो सत्य को बाधा पहुचाना चाहता है. जिसके ह्रदय में कोई श्रद्धा नहीं है. जिसे सत्य बहुत कड़वा लगेगा.

Aphorism 169 One should not disregard significant qualities of a person on seeing some common vice in him. यदि आप लोगो में कोई सामान्य दुर्गुण देखते है तो भी आपको उनके सद्गुणों को अनदेखा नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 170 One may identify many defects in something good if one takes a gross view. यदि आप स्थूल रूप से देखे तो किसी अच्छी चीज में भी आप को बहोत खामीया नजर आएगी.

Aphorism 171 One may identify lack of shine, curves, oddness and may other defects in a gem stone. The best gemstone of the best class is not free from all defects. Similarly there could be some bodily and sensual disorders in intelligent people. किसी रत्न को देखकर आप कह सकते है की उसमे चमक नहीं है, वह टेढ़ा है, कुछ बिलग है और ऐसे अनेक दोष आप निकल सकते है. एक सर्वोच्च वर्ग के सर्वोच्च रत्न में भी अनेक खामीया निकाली जा सकती है. इसीप्रकार एक विद्वान में भी शरीर और इन्द्रियों की कुछ खामीया हो सकती है.

Aphorism 172 Those who don't abide by the social norms, those who don't listen to their conscience, those who don't abide by any limit should not be trusted upon. जो किसी समाज के आदर्श को नहीं मानते. जो अपने विवेक की नहीं सुनते. जो अपनी मर्यादा में नहीं रहते. उनके ऊपर विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 173 If an enemy shows sweetness in his bahaviour that should be considered as hatred like a pot of poison having milk at the top. यदि शत्रु मधुरता भी दिखाए तो उसे शत्रुता ही समझना चाहिए. वह मानो एक ऐसा विष का घड़ा है जिसके उपरी सतह पर दूध है.

Aphorism 174 Selfish people show humility if they want to serve their interest. So one should discern true colours of such selfish people. स्वार्थी लोग जब उनका काम होता है तो विनम्र हो जाते है. हमें उनके अंतरंग पहचानते आने चाहिए.

Aphorism 175 One should not behave contradictory to good people having experience. जो सज्जन अनुभवी है हमें उनके प्रतिकूल व्यवहार नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 176 He who is devoid of any quality becomes an abode of many qualities if he remains in contact with a man of qualities. जिस व्यक्ति के पास कोई गुण नहीं है वह गुण प्राप्त कर सकता है यदि वह गुणवान व्यक्ति के संपर्क में आता है.

Aphorism 177 As water that takes shelter with milk mixes with milk fully, in the same way a person who surrenders to a man of qualities becomes similar to him. वह पानी जो दूध की शरण में आता है पूर्ण रूप से दूध के साथ घुल जाता है. यही प्रभाव गुणवान की शरण से भी होता है.

Aphorism 178 The earth is devoid of fragrance but it gains fragrance when it comes in contact with a flower. Similarly a person who is devoid of qualities but capable of assimilation gains from a man of qualities if develops contact. धरती जो सुगंध से रहित है सुंगंधित हो जाती है यदि वह फूल के संपर्क में आती है. इसी तरह गुणों से रहित व्यक्ति गुणवान के संपर्क से गुणी हो जाते है.

Aphorism 179 It is similar to silver acquiring status of gold when it is mixed therewith. किसी गहने को बनाने के लिए जब सोने में चांदी मिलायी जाती है तो वह सोना बन जाती है.

Aphorism 180 A foolish person due to defect of his intellect causes harm to his benefactor and serves his base interest. एक मुर्ख व्यक्ति अपने बुद्धि के दोष से अपना भला करने वाले को नुकसान पहुचाकर खुदका संकुचित स्वार्थ सिद्ध करता है.

Aphorism 181 A sinner is never afraid of being reviled. एक पापी को उसके अपमानित होने का कोई डर नहीं होता.

Aphorism 182 An insurmountable enemy can be conquered by those who have enthusiasm. यदि उत्साह हो तो एक अजेय शत्रु भी पराजित हो जाता है.

Aphorism 183 The glory of knowledge is the resource of the ruler. बुद्धि का तेज ही शासक की असली संपत्ति है.

Aphorism 184 He who lacks enthusiasm, action and intellect can't get any success now or in future. जिसके पास उत्साह, कर्म और बुद्धि की कमी है उसे कोई सफलता नहीं मिलेगी अभी या भविष्य में.

Aphorism 185 If there is lack of enthusiasm the success that is almost certain slips away. यदि उत्साह की कमी है तो एक निश्चित सफलता भी हाथो से फिसल जाती है.

Aphorism 186 He who wants fish has to go to dive in water and take the risk. Similarly a man of action should rise, run the risk of disaster, protect success in the form of his fate from all troubles and this is how he should accomplish his work. जिसे मछली पानी है उसे जल में गोता लगाना पड़ेगा और जोखिम उठानी पड़ेगी. व्यक्ति को जागना होगा, जोखिम उठानी होगी, अपने नसीब में जो सफलता है उसे हर प्रकार के खतरों से बचाना होगा. तभी उसे सफलता मिलेगी.

Aphorism 187 One should never trust those who are not tested or who are not eligible for the work. आप उनपर विश्वास ना करे जिनकी आपने परीक्षा ना ली हो या जो काम के लायक ना हो.

Aphorism 188 A poison is forever poison. It will never be nectar. As poison never changes it's form so does a man who is not trustworthy. जहर हरदम के लिए जहर है. वह कभी भी अमृत नहीं होगा. जिस प्रकार जहर अपना स्वाभाव नहीं छोड़ता है उसी प्रकार विश्वास घातकी भी होता है.

Aphorism 189 One should never take any help from enemies for doing the work. आप कोई भी काम करने के लिए शत्रु से मदद ना ले.

Aphorism 190 One should never rely on the enemy for accomplishing one's objective. आप कोई भी उद्देश्य की प्राप्ति के लिए शत्रु से मदद न ले.

Aphorism 191 One has relations with people only for attaining his objectives. उद्देश्यों को प्राप्त करने के लिए ही लोग दुसरो से सम्बन्ध रखते है.

Aphorism 192 If an enemy's son is a friend one should protect him. यदि आपके शत्रु का पुत्र आपका मित्र है तो उसकी रक्षा करे.

Aphorism 193 If you want to hit your enemy on his weak points and destroy him, you should continue to show him artificial honour and friendship until you identify his weak points. आप अपने शत्रु को कृत्रिम आदर और प्रेम दिखाते रहे जबतक की आप उसकी कमजोरी जान नहीं जाते. उसकी कमजोरी जानने के बाद आप जमकर प्रहार कर सकते है.

Aphorism 194 The ruler who wants to emerge victorious should hit very hard the weak areas of his enemy. वह शासक जो जीतना चाहता है, अपने शत्रु की कमजोरियों पर जमकर प्रहार करे.

Aphorism 195 The enemy should not know that the ruler is weak and the ruler should always appear strong to the enemy. शत्रु को पता ना चले की शासक कमजोर है और उसे हरदम शासक ताकतवर प्रतीत हो.

Aphorism 196 The enemy always attacks the areas which are assessed as weak. शत्रु हरदम उसे नजर आने वाली कमजोरी पर हमला करेगा.

Aphorism 197 The ruler should have no faith in the enemy who made friendly gestures but behaved like an enemy after the enemy is conquered. वह शत्रु जो शासक से मैत्रीपूर्ण व्यवहार दिखाता था जब परस्त कर दिया जाए तो उस पर विश्वास न किया जाए.

Aphorism 198 The ruler who aspires to be victorious should use strong means to correct the wrong or ugly conduct of his own people. वह शासक जिसे विजय की कामना है उसे अपने लोगो के गलत और अशोभनीय व्यवहार को सख्ती से निपटना चाहिए.

Aphorism 199 When the ruler doesn't adhere to the good character and offends his own people intellectuals take his offence by heart. जब शासक अच्छे चरित्र को त्याग देता है और खुद के ही लोगो का अपमान करता है तो बुद्धिजीवी लोग अपमान को ह्रदय से लगा लेते है.

Aphorism 200 A person as a whole becomes sick and incapacitated if any of his organ becomes sick. Similarly when any part of the ruling mechanism malfunctions it deprives the whole mechanism of it's strengths. जिस प्रकार एक अंग के बीमार होने से आदमी पूरा ही बीमार और सामर्थ्यहीन हो जाता है वैसे ही जब शासन व्यवस्था का कोई भाग ठीक से काम नहीं करता तो सम्पूर्ण शासन व्यवस्था ही चरमरा जाती है.

Aphorism 201 Good conduct is the infallible means of defeating the enemy. सदाचार ही शत्रु को परास्त करने का रामबाण उपाय है.

Aphorism 202 A mean person always demonstrates craftiness against good people. जो नीच होता है वह अच्छे लोगो के विरुद्ध बहोत होशियारी दिखाता है.

Aphorism 203 One should not take any efforts to impart righteousness to a base, meek and foolish person. हमें एक ऐसे व्यक्ति को सदाचरण सिखाने के कोई कष्ट नहीं लेने चाहिए जो नीच, दुर्बल, मुर्ख हो.

Aphorism 204 One should not trust a cruel, foolish and mean person. आप को एक क्रूर, मुर्ख और नीच आदमी पर विश्वास नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 205 Even if you greet a bad person with magnanimity he will not miss any opportunity to harm you. यदि आप एक बुरे आदमी को उदारता का परिचय देते हो तो भी वह आपको नुकसान पहुचाने का कोई मौका नहीं छोड़ेगा.

Aphorism 206 As a forest fire due to it's burning hot nature doesn't take any virtue from the sandalwood and burns it to ashes, a foolish person will always harm you disregarding all good done by you. जिस प्रकार एक दावाग्नि अपने उष्ण स्वभाव के कारण चन्दन से कोई शीतलता ग्रहण नहीं करता और उसे जला देता है उसी प्रकार एक मुर्ख उसके साथ किये हुए कोई परोपकार को नहीं जानता.

Aphorism 207 You should never offend any person. आप कभी किसी का अपमान ना करे.

Aphorism 208 One should always bear in mind that forgiveness is a great human quality. One should never cause any agony to those who deserve forgiveness. क्षमाशीलता एक बहुत बड़ा मानवीय सद्गुण है. आप कभी ऐसे व्यक्ति को कोई कष्ट न पहुचाये जो क्षमा का पात्र हो.

Aphorism 209 Those who are devoid of intellect open the secrets that the ruler tells them in confidence. जो मुर्ख होते है वो राजाने जो गुप्त बाते उनसे कही है उसे खोलते है.

Aphorism 210 Love is never expressed by words it is expressed by doing something in favour. प्रेम शब्द से व्यक्त नहीं होता वह कुछ करने से व्यक्त होता है.

Aphorism 211 Only a resourceful person can issue any command. वही निर्देश दे जिसके पूर्ति के संसाधन आपके पास हो.

Aphorism 212 A foolish person makes an obvious favour under the influence of something strange. एक मुर्ख को एक स्वाभाविक अच्छी बात भी करनी हो तो वह बड़े ही अजब ढंग से करता है.

Aphorism 213 Those who lack discretion perish even when they are bestowed with royal affluence. जिनके पास विवेक नहीं वे उन्हें राजश्री प्रदान करने के बाद भी बर्बाद हो जाते है.

Aphorism 214 Those who lack patience don't get any happiness now or later. In the absence of patience action becomes fruitless even though there was a certain capacity to get the results. One needs to have patience if one wants to be successful. जिनके पास धैर्य नहीं है उन्हें अभी या बाद में कोई सुख प्राप्त नहीं होता. धैर्य नहीं है तो जहा निश्चित फल आना था वहां भी नहीं आएगा. जिन्हें सफलता चाहिए उन्हें धैर्य रखना होगा.

Aphorism 215 The intelligent people shouldn't get too close to fools. बुद्धिमान लोगो को मूर्खो के बहोत निकट नहीं जाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 216 One should not have a glass of milk if that is offered by a person who has taken liquor. यदि दारू पिया हुआ आदमी आपको दूध का गिलास भी पिने को दे तो न ले.

Aphorism 217 The intellect should help one find a certain path to success when lot of difficulties arise. बुद्धि ही आदमी को सफलता की राह दिखाती है जब वह कठिनाइयों से घिर जाता है.

Aphorism 218 A meal is conducive to good health if it is taken in limit. भोजन सवास्थ्य के लिए अच्छा है यदि वह अमर्याद मात्र में ना लिया जाए.

Aphorism 219 If one has become sick after taking food that was not permissible, one should not take even the permissible food. यदि आप अपथ्य का सेवन करके बीमार हो गए हो तो पथ्य का सेवन भी ना करे.

Aphorism 220 A person remains free from all diseases if he takes meals only when the earlier meal is digested and he feels hungry. आदमी सभी रोगों से मुक्त रह सकता है जब वह तभी भोजन करता है जब उसका पहले किया हुआ भोजन पच चूका है और जब उसे भूख होती है.

Aphorism 221 A sick person, an old person, a weak person should not ignore the worsening of any disease. एक रुग्ण को, एक बूढ़े आदमी को, एक कमजोर आदमी को किसीभी रोग का बढ़ना दुर्लक्षित नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 222 If a person is having improper digestion and still he takes meals that makes his stomach more sick and woeful. यदि आदमी का पेट ठीक नहीं चल रहा है और वह और भोजन करता है तो उसका पेट और ख़राब हो जायेगा.

Aphorism 223 A disease is worse than an enemy. रोग शत्रु से भयंकर है.

Aphorism 224 One should give charity on the basis of his capacity. जिसकी जितनी क्षमता हो उसने उतना परोपकार करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 225 A person who is unreasonably cunning and greedy has a tendency to come very close and make relations. जो बहुत धूर्त और लोभी है उसमे बहोत निकट आने की और सबंध बढ़ाने की प्रवृत्ति होती है.

Aphorism 226 Greed envelopes one's mind. लोभ का आवरण आदमी के मन पर छा जाता है.

Aphorism 227 One should classify work on the basis of priority and do the work that has the highest priority. व्यक्ति को उसके काम को प्रार्थमिकता के आधार पर बाटना चाहिए. और उसे जिस काम की प्रार्थमिकता सबसे अधिक है उसे करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 228 If the work done by us or others derails we should verify where the problem has arisen and rectify the defect. यदि हमारा काम या जो काम कोई दूसरा कर रहा है वह रुक जाता है तो हमें यह देखना चाहिए की अड़चन कहा है और उसे ठीक करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 229 An inhuman attack, a vile behaviour, not applying any intellect or showing unwanted bravery are in the very nature of a foolish person. एक अमानुष प्रहार करना, बदसलूकी करना, अपने दिमाग का इस्तमाल नहीं करना, अनावश्यक साहस दिखाना यह सब एक मुर्ख के लक्षण है.

Aphorism 230 One should not exchange words with a fool. व्यक्ति को एक मुर्ख के साथ मुंह नहीं लगना चाहिए.

Aphorism 231 One should not be good to a fool. एक मुर्ख से बहोत अच्छा व्यवहार नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 232 'Iron cuts iron' is the right policy that should be used against a fool. लोहा लोहे को काटता है - यह नीति मुर्ख के साथ अपनानी चाहिए.

Aphorism 233 It is very difficult for a fool to maintain relations. यह बहोत मुश्किल है की मुर्ख किसीसे कोई रिश्ता निभा पाए.

Aphorism 234 Only the path of righteousness can protect a person. व्यक्ति का सदाचरण ही उसकी रक्षा करता है.

Aphorism 235 A person can't get rid of his merits and demerits even when his body falls. व्यक्ति उसके पाप पुण्यो से छुटकारा नहीं पा सकता है जब उसके शरीर त्यागने का वक़्त आता है.

Aphorism 236 A person who shows mercy furthers his righteousness. जिस व्यक्ति में दया भाव है वही अपने धर्मं को निभा सकता है.

Aphorism 237 Righteousness gives rise to truth and charity. धर्म का अनुसरण करने से सत्यता और परोपकार में वृद्धि होती है.

Aphorism 238 A person who abides by righteousness can defeat the whole world. जो व्यक्ति सदाचारी है वह सम्पूर्ण विश्व को परास्त कर सकता है.

Aphorism 239 The death that devours one and all can't perish the one who abides by righteousness. वह काल जो सभी को खाता है उसे कुछ नहीं कर सकता जो धर्म के मार्ग पर चलता है.

Aphorism 240 Whenever the sin that reviles righteousness gains strength righteousness is done the highest offense. जब सत्य के विरुद्ध रुख रखने वाले पाप में वृद्धि होती है तो धर्म का अपमान होता है.

Aphorism 241 Those devil people who revile the truth signal their destruction by reviling the truth. जो दुष्ट लोग सत्य को नीचा दिखाते है उनका यह व्यवहार ही उनके विनाश का संकेत करता है.

Aphorism 242 The intellect that takes delight in unrighteousness signals doom. वह बुद्धि जो अधर्म में रूचि रखती है अपने बर्बादी की ओर संकेत करती है.

Aphorism 243 A man who reviles others can't maintain secrecy of any matters. जो व्यक्ति दुसरो का द्वेष करता है वह किसी भी मामले की गुप्तता नहीं बनाये रख सकता.

Aphorism 244 One should not insist in knowing the secrets of others. हमें दुसरो की गुप्त बाते जानने के लिए उनके पीछे नहीं पड़ना चाहिए.

Aphorism 245 It is not in order that a ruler is dominated by unworthy followers. यह कोई उचित बात नहीं है यदि शासक अपात्र अनुयायीओ के प्रभाव में आ जाता है.

Aphorism 246 One should not ignore one's well-wishers but one should take only that much care which they deserve. हमें अपने हित चिंतको को दुर्लक्षित नहीं करना चाहिए. उन्हें सिर्फ उतना महत्त्व दे जितनी उनकी पात्रता है.

Aphorism 247 One should disregard even one's mother if she is wicked. यदि किसी की माता दुष्ट हो तो उसे उसकी बातो पर ध्यान नहीं देना चाहिए.

Aphorism 248 As a part that gets infected is amputated, one should part with the kinsman who has turned inimical. जिस प्रकार शरीर के एक विषाणुग्रस्त भाग को काट देते है उसी प्रकार जो स्वजन शत्रु हो गए है उन्हें दूर करो.

Aphorism 249 If a person is our benefactor he should be treated like a relative. यदि कोई व्यक्ति अपना भला चाहता है तो उसे सम्बन्धी माना जाए.

Aphorism 250 A medicine that cures a disease has to be obtained from a remote place like forest, similarly a benefactor should not be disregarded even if people consider him to be inferior. औषधि एक दुर्गम वन से आती है, उसी तरह यदि लोग जिसे घटिया आदमी समझते है वह आपका हितकर्ता है तो उसकी अवहेलना ना करो.

Aphorism 251 One should never rely on what thieves say. हम उसपर कभी विश्वास ना करे जो एक चोर कहता है.

Aphorisms of Chanakya Sutra 91 to 164 (Only English and Hindi Translation)

Aphorism 91 The righteous conduct and the fulfillment of the needs of the State depend on the stability of the revenue of the treasury. राज्य का धर्म के मार्ग पर चलना और अपनी जरूरतों को पूरा करना इसपर निर्भर करेगा की राजस्व के उत्पन्न में कितनी स्थिरता है.

Aphorism 92 How the State can do any work without resources. यदि राज्य के पास साधन नहीं है तो राज्य काम कैसे करेगा.

Aphorism 93 If there are adequate resources with the state the work can be accomplished easily. यदि राज्य के पास पर्याप्त साधन है तो उसका काम आसानी से हो जाता है.

Aphorism 94 No work is difficult if it is done like worship. कोई भी कार्य मुश्किल नहीं यदि उसे पूजा समझकर किया जाए.

Aphorism 95 If there is no adequate mobilisation of resources the work gets thwarted. यदि राज्य आवश्यक संसाधन नहीं जुटा पाता है तो काम को अंजाम नहीं दिया जा सकता.

Aphorism 96 Means or resources are the true deputies of those who execute the work. काम को करने में संसाधन ही असली सहायक है.

Aphorism 97 Once there are resources and executives, the targets to be achieved are clearly defined. यदि संसाधन है और काम करने वाले लोग भी है तो काम के लक्ष्य को स्पष्टतासे निर्धारित किया जा सकता है.

Aphorism 98 The destiny follows the systematic and result oriented efforts. नियति वही करती है जो प्रयत्नों के अनुरूप होता है.

Aphorism 99 If destiny is adverse the responsibility nicely discharged fails to produce any tangible results. लेकिन किसी करणवश यदि नियति अनुकूल नहीं है तो ठीक तरह से किया हुआ कर्तव्य भी परिणाम नहीं देता.

Aphorism 100 Those who cease to take any efforts relying on destiny soon realise lack of resources to sustain life. जो लोग नियति के सहारे चलते है, शीघ्र ही यह अनुभव करते है की जीने के लिए उनके पास संसाधन ही नहीं है.

Aphorism 101 One should carefully consider about the necessity, the indipensibility, the outcome, the policy and the means and clear all the air of confusion. Once the confusion is cleared the task may be undertaken. काम करने से पहले उसकी आवश्यकता, अनिवार्यता, परिणाम, नीति और संसाधनों के बारे में अत्यंत बारकाई से सोचे और सभी संदेहों को दूर करे. काम तभी शुरू करे जब सब संदेह ख़तम हो चुके है.

Aphorism 102 Once the work is started there should be no procrastination. एक बार काम शुरू होने के बाद उसमे कोई ढिलाई नहीं होनी चाहिए.

Aphorism 103 No work can be accomplished by the one who has unstable mind. वह व्यक्ति कोई काम नहीं कर सकता जिसका मन स्थिर नहीं है.

Aphorism 104 Those who don't make use of resources at hand ruin their work. जो लोग अपने पास के संसाधनों को उपयोग में नहीं लाते है कोई काम नहीं करते है.

Aphorism 105 The work that is free of all defects is rare in the world. इस दुनिया में वह काम दुर्लभ है जिसमे कोई खामी ना हो.

Aphorism 106 One should not do a work where there is no certainty of any good outcome. व्यक्ति ऐसा काम ना करे जिसमे शुभ परिणाम आना तय नहीं है.

Aphorism 107 Those who are good at discerning the right time accomplish their work easily. जो अच्छे समय को परख लेते है अपने काम को आसानी से करते है.

Aphorism 108 If the work is not done at the duty bound time the success of the work is devoured by time. यदि काम को निर्धारित समय पर नहीं किया गया तो उस काम की सफलता को काल खा डालता है.

Aphorism 109 One should not delay discharging his duty by a single moment. व्यक्ति को उसके कर्त्तव्य को निभाने के लिए एक पल का भी विलम्ब नहीं करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 110 The work done at the right time and under the favorable conditions is successful. वह काम जो सही समय और सही परिस्थितियों में किया जाता है सफल होता है.

Aphorism 111 Once the destiny becomes adverse the duties that could have been discharged very easily appear very tough. यदि नियति प्रतिकूल हो जाती है तो आसान कर्त्तव्य को करना भी बहोत मुश्किल हो जाता है.

Aphorism 112 Those who are pragmatic they should take care of both policy and implementation. जो व्यवहारी लोग होते है उन्हें निति और उसके कार्यान्वयन दोनों के बारे में सोचना चाहिए.

Aphorism 113 It is a rule that those who do the work at the right time get the success. यह एक नियम है की जो समय पर काम करते है उन्हें सफलता मिलती है.

Aphorism 114 The ruler should use all techniques like giving honour, awards etc. and should cause accumulation of wealth in the State. These resources can be put to use when there is a need. एक शासक को सभी तकनीके अपना कर जैसे सम्मान देना, पारितोषिक देना इत्यादि राज्य में संपत्ति के निर्माण को बढ़ावा देना चाहिए.

Aphorism 115 Those who fail to understand the significance of the right time don't get any success. जिन्हें सही समय का महत्त्व नहीं समझता उन्हें कोई भी सफलता प्राप्त नहीं होती.

Aphorism 116 One should decide on the basis of one's experience and analysis about how the work will be done. One should clearly define his duty in the work execution. व्यक्ति ने अपने अनुभव और विश्लेषण के आधार पर यह तय करना चाहिए की काम कैसे किया जाय. व्यक्ति ने कार्यान्वयन में अपनी भूमिका तय कर लेनी चाहिए.

Aphorism 117 One should be allocated that work for which he is competent. एक व्यक्ति को वही काम दिया जाए जिसे वह करने में सक्षम हो.

Aphorism 118 He who is good at trouble shooting knows very well significant resources. He is good at making the difficult tasks easy. जो आदमी मुसीबतों से निपटने में माहिर है उसे पता है की महत्त्व के संसाधन कौनसे है. वह मुश्किल कामो को आसान करने में भी माहिर है.

Aphorism 119 Those who are ignorant should not be given any credit even if they are successful. An ignorant can't be successful, the success was just achieved accidentally. जो मुर्ख है उन्हें उनके काम का कोई श्रेय ना दिया जाए. एक मुर्ख कभी सफलता हासिल नहीं करता. यदि वह सफलता हासिल भी कर लेता है तो इसे एक संयोग माना जाए.

Aphorism 120 The wood-eater ant by chance makes shapes of various articles. This is not a basis for his proficiency in making models of articles. Similarly if there is a person who behaves according to his own wish and lack any power of discrimination and if he is able to do some work by chance he deserves no credit for the work. जैसे के एक लकड़ी खाने वाला कीड़ा जो भूसे से विविध आकार बनाता है तो यह नहीं कहा जा सकता की वह आकारों को बनाने में माहिर है. उसी प्रकार यदि कोई मनुष्य बिना सोचे समझे और बिना किसी विवेक के संयोगवश कोई काम करने में सफल होता है तो उसे सफल व्यक्ति ना माना जाये.

Aphorism 121 People should come to know about the work only when the work is performed. लोगो को काम के बारे में तभी पता चले जब काम पूर्ण हो जाए.

Aphorism 122 Sometimes work remains incomplete due to adverse conditions or human mistakes. कभी कभी काम विपरीत परिस्थितियों के कारण या किसी व्यक्ति की गलती के कारण अपूर्ण रहता है

Aphorism 123 If there are natural calamities like earthquake, heavy rains, thunderstorms or internal disturbances or there is external aggression, the ruler should deal with the conditions by maintaining stability and peace of his intellect. यदि नैसर्गिक आपदा आती है जैसे भूचाल, भारी बारिश, बिजलियों का गिरना या राज्य में कोई आन्तरिक गड़बड़ होती है या बाहर से आक्रमण होता है तो शासक को अपने मन की शांति और स्थिरता बनाये रखना चाहिए.

Aphorism 124 If the work is hampered by human factors, one should address these factors by using one's attentiveness and understanding. यदि काम किसी व्यक्ति की गलती से बिगड़ गया है तो उसे अपने ध्यान और समझ से सुलझाना चाहिए.

Aphorism 125 Foolish people after they fail in the execution of the work repent for their mistakes which they should have corrected before starting the work. Or they blame others and say that someone else is responsible for the fiasco and they are not to be blamed. This is how they become faultless commentators. मुर्ख लोग जब असफल हो जाते है तो उन गलतियों के बारे में पछताते है जिन्हें उन्हें काम आरम्भ करने के पहले नहीं करना चाहिए था. यातो वो दुसरो के माथे गलतियों को मढ़ते है और कहते है की उनका अपना कोई दोष नहीं है. इस प्रकार वो एक निर्दोष समीक्षक बन जाते है.

Aphorism 126 One should not be lax in covering up one's weaknesses and identifying defects of the opponents. One should not unreasonably rely on anybody and never divulge one's secrets. If one doesn't behave like this disaster befalls one's nation. व्यक्ति को उसकी कमजोरियों को छुपाने में और विरोधको की कमजोरी देखने में आलस नहीं करना चाहिए. उसी प्रकार उसे दुसरे पर जरूरत से ज्यादा विश्वास भी नहीं करना चाहिए. यदि कोई ऐसा नहीं करता है तो उसका राज्य संकट में आ जाता है.

Aphorism 127 A calf that feeds on mother's milk strikes breasts of a cow to get milk. जब बछड़ा गाय के स्तनों को मुंह से प्रहार करता है तभी उसे माँ का दूध नसीब होता है.

Aphorism 128 If one doesn't make full efforts for accomplishing the work, the work is aborted. यदि काम को करने में भरसक प्रयत्न नहीं होता है तो काम तमाम हो जाता है.

Aphorism 129 Those who are convinced that they will fail in their work from the very begining won't succeed in their work or they just sit idle without doing any work. जिन्हें शुरू से ऐसा लगता है की वे अपने काम में असफल हो जायेंगे वो या तो काम में असफल होते है या काम को करते ही नहीं है.

Aphorism 130 Those who shirk their responsibilities won't do anything for their dependants. जो अपनी जिम्मेदारी से दूर भागते है वो अपने ऊपर निर्भर लोगो के लिए कुछ नहीं कर सकते.

Aphorism 131 Those who can't see their duties with the eye of discretion are blind inspite of having eyes. जो अपने कर्त्तव्य को अपनी विवेक दृष्टि से नहीं देखते है वो आँख होते हुए भी अंध है.

Aphorism 132 One should define one's duty taking into consideration the existing and future means. व्यक्ति को आज के और भविष्य के संसाधनों को देखते हुए अपना कर्त्तव्य निर्धारित करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 133 Success forsake those who work without contemplation. जो किसी योजना के काम करते है सफलता उन्हें छोड़ जाती है.

Aphorism 134 Disaster should be removed by contemplation. योजनाबद्ध रूप से सभी विपत्तियों से निबटना चाहिए.

Aphorism 135 One should have complete and true understanding of one's strengths. One should not have any futile confidence about one's strengths. व्यक्ति को उसके ताकत की सम्पूर्ण और सही जानकारी होनी चाहिए. उसे उसकी ताकत में खोखला भरोसा नहीं होना चाहिए.

Aphorism 136 Those who provide from their earning for their own people, brothers, guests, dependants, poor people, welfare organisations and sustain themselves only on the remaining earnings, get the joy of eating nectar while they take their regular meals. जो अपने उत्पन्न से अपने लोगो के लिए, संबंधियों के लिए, मेहमानों के लिए, अपने ऊपर निर्भर करने वालो के लिए, गरीब लोगो के लिए, जनकल्याण संस्थाओ के लिए सहयोग निकलने के पश्चात् खुद का गुजारा करते है उन्हें अपना भोजन करते वक़्त अमृत का आनंद अनुभव होता है.

Aphorism 137 More avenues are opened for the resource mobilization of the state if the State performs it's duty in respect of land, wealth, commerce and arts. संसाधन जुटाने के नए द्वार खुल जाते है यदि राज्य भूमि, संपत्ति, व्यापार और कला के क्षेत्र में अपने कर्त्तव्य को निभाता है.

Aphorism 138 Those who are fearful never have any thought of discharging any duty in their mind. They are good at identifying one excuse on the other for not doing anything. जो भय ग्रस्त होते है उन्हें कर्त्तव्य बोध नहीं होता है. वो कुछ न करने का कोई न कोई बहाना बना ही लेते है.

Aphorism 139 Those who are appointed for doing work शौल्ड do their work or get their work done by others knowing the liking of the person who has provided them shelter. वह व्यक्ति जिसने आपको काम सौपा है आपको खुद या दुसरो के द्वारा उसे सौपने वाले का रुख देखकर पूरा करना है.

Aphorism 140 As a calf gets milk from a cow in the way that is best for her nature, so does a person who serves the ruler performs his task of serving the State. जिस प्रकार बछड़ा माँ का रुख देखकर दूध पाने का सही तरीका खोज लेता है उसी प्रकार राज्य का भला हो यह ध्यान में रखकर काम करना चाहिए.

Aphorism 141 A person who is intelligent should not divulge secrets to the one who is foolish, without any ethics, who doesn't conform to any policy, base, indecisive. एक बुद्धिमान व्यक्ति को काम की गुप्त बाते ऐसे आदमी को नहीं बतानी चाहिए जो मूढ़ हो, नीतिमत्ता से रहित हो, किसी निति को ना मानता हो, नीच हो और निर्णय करने की क्षमता ना रखता हो.

Aphorism 142 Those who are unduly soft and who don't exercise any discretion in granting favors are not respected even by their own people. जो बड़ी ही ढील दिखाते है और जो किसीका भला करते वक़्त कोई विवेक नहीं दिखाते, वो अपने ही लोगो से कोई सम्मान नहीं पाते दुसरो की तो बात ही क्या.

Aphorism 143 The ruler who gives harsh punishment for small crimes invites hatred from all. He becomes a reason for creating disorder in his jurisdiction. जो शासक छोटे अपराध की बड़ी सजा देता है उसे लोग नफरत करते है. वह अपने क्षेत्र में बिना मतलब ही गड़बड़ी पैदा करता है.

Aphorism 144 It is fair that the ruler should give reasonable punishment. यह उचित है की शासक अपराध का समुचित दंड दे.

Aphorism 145 A person who is not serious doesn't get any recognition from people even if he is intelligent. जो व्यक्ति गंभीर नहीं है उसे लोगो से कोई सम्मान नहीं मिलता भले ही वह बुद्धिमान हो.

Aphorism 146 If a person is given too much responsibility he loses is enthusiasm and his work bears no fruits. यदि कोई व्यक्ति को बहुत सारी जिम्मेदारी दी जाती है तो वह उत्साह खो देता है और उसके काम का कोई फल नहीं आता.

Aphorism 147 If a person starts accusing others in the State Assembly for settling his personal scores declares himself to be a culprit. यदि कोई व्यक्ति राज सभा में अपने व्यक्तिगत स्वार्थ के लिए किसीपर दोषारोपण करता है तो उसे गुन्हेगार माना जाए.

Aphorism 148 Those who are devoid of any manners and power of discrimination cause harm to their soul by their anger. जिनमे ना ही आचरण के तरीके है और ना ही विवेक बुद्धि है वो क्रोध से अपनी आत्मा को नुकसान पहुचाते है.

Aphorism 149 Those who are equipped with the wealth of truth are not devoid of anything that they desire. जिनके पास सत्य की दौलत है उनकी कोई भी इच्छा अधूरी नहीं रहती.

Aphorism 150 Bravery alone won't help. सिर्फ साहस से काम नहीं चलता.

Aphorism 151 An addicted person can't perform his duty as he loses focus of his mind. एक नशाखोर आदमी कर्त्तव्य पालन नहीं कर सकता क्यों की उसकी एकाग्रता खो जाती है.

Aphorism 152 Procrastination invites an army of troubles. काम को ढिलाई से करने से दिक्कतों की फौज इकठ्ठा हो जाती है.

Aphorism 153 It is better to die an uncertain death in a war than dying a certain death by shirking a war. रणभूमि से भागकर एक निश्चित मौत मरने से बेहतर है की रणभूमि में एक अनिश्चित मौत का सामना करे.

Aphorism 154 Those who keep wealth of others as the trustees of wealth, if they develop their selfish interest in the wealth and if they no more feel accountable to others for the wealth, will always try to serve their selfish interest. जिस व्यक्ति में दुसरो की संपत्ति जो उसे देखभाल के लिए दी गयी है उसमे स्वार्थ भाव जगता है और वो कोई हिसाब देने की जरूरत नहीं समझता तो यह समझ लेना चाहिए की उसकी नियत में खोट आ गयी है.

Aphorism 155 Charity is a form of righteous conduct. परोपकार या दान यह एक सदाचार है.

Aphorism 156 A person wastes his life if he lives like an ignorant person. वह व्यक्ति अपनी जिंदगी बर्बाद करता है जो एक मुर्ख की तरह बरतता है.

Aphorism 157 If a person indulges in petty desires he loses his righteousness and resources. जो व्यक्ति हीन कामनाओ में लगा रहता है वह सदाचार और संसाधन खो देता है.

Aphorism 158 A person devoid of righteousness, rather who behaves exactly opposite to what he is supposed to renders his life useless. He causes instability in the society and disturbs the continuity of peace in the society. वह व्यक्ति जो सदाचार से रहित है और जो विपरीत आचरण करता है, वह अपनी जिंदगी को व्यर्थ ही गवाता है. वह समाज में गड़बड़ी पैदा करता है और शांति की श्रुंखला को तोड़ता है.

Aphorism 159 He is a rare person in this world who is guileless and decent while dealing with a good person and who has his attention focused on performing his duties. ऐसा व्यक्ति दुनिया में बिरला है जो दुसरो के प्रति द्वेषभाव नहीं रखता, अच्छा व्यवहार करता है और अपना कर्त्तव्य पूरा करने में हरदम ध्यान रखता है.

Aphorism 160 A good person while discharging his duty rejects prosperity that blemishes him as a blade of grass. एक सज्जन अपना कर्त्तव्य पूरा करने में उस सम्पन्नता को तिनके की तरह नकारता है जो उसे कलंकित करती है.

Aphorism 161 Even a single vice of a person makes many of his good qualities bad. व्यक्ति का एक दुर्गुण उसके अनेक सद्गुणों को बुरा बनाता है.

Aphorism 162 A good person who is always commited to truth guards the truth that seems a very difficult task on his own without relying on others. एक सज्जन सत्य की बड़ी कठिन परिस्थितियों में खुद की बदौलत रक्षा करता है और उसके लिए वह किसी पर निर्भर नहीं करता.

Aphorism 163 A person should not do something that blemishes his character by succumbing to the vices like lust and anger. If he does so he may have a thorn pricking his heart forever. एक व्यक्ति को काम, क्रोध आदि विकारो के अधीन होकर अपने चरित्र को कलंकित नहीं करना चाहिए. यदि वह ऐसा करता है तो उसका यह करना उसकी छाती का काटा बनकर उसे हरदम दुःख देगा.

Aphorism 164 As a lion never eats grass howsoever hungry may be against his habbit of being a non-vegetarian. So are the people who hold their character very high disregarding all excitement and disasters. They remain commited to truth, good character and glory. जिस प्रकार एक सिंह वह चाहे कितना भी भूखा क्यों ना हो मास खाने के स्वभाव को छोड़कर घास नहीं खाता है उसी प्रकार अच्छे लोग परिस्थिति कितनी भी विपरीत क्यों ना हो जाए सदाचार नहीं छोड़ते है.
